Three sections (ka, kha, ja) of the Tibetan-Mongolian terminological dictionary in 11 sections, which was prepared in 1741-1742 by 25 Tibetan and Mongolian learned lamas, led by the Second lČang skya Qutuγtu Rol pa’i rdo rje. The dictionary was compiled to be put to use in the translation endeavour of the Tibetan bsTan ’gyur into the Mongolian language undertaken by Rol pa’i rdo rje and a team of 35 translators upon the request of the Qianlong emperor.
The copy preserved at Berlin (Heissig/Sagaster 1961, No. 534) has the same measurements as the xylograph of the Ernst collection.
