BOP guarantees immediate free access to its content according to the BOAI definition of Open Access. The rights to the content remain with the authors. Publications are released under a Creative Commons License (CC BY 4.0). This also pertains to preprints where applicable.

BOP is a Diamond Open Access service in which authors pay no publishing fees (Author Processing Charges, APCs) and readers do not pay access or subscription fees.
